USB 3.1 Type E Feature:
Mzhou USB 3.1 Front Panel Header to USB-C Type-C Female Extension Cable 50 cm with Panel Mount Screw USB 3.1 require a different front panel header than USB 3.0.
The USB 3.1 port interface is using the USB 3.0 pin set and more.It is design to be backwards compatible (will explain later). There are no official release of the specs for the USB 3.1 header yet (as of this writing), But first motherboard with this is the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS IX FORMULA,STRIX Z270I/Z270G etc.

I shoved this in the hole plug side first, the “ears” or “wings” whatever you want to call the screw holes were wide enough to straddle the old USB hole in the front of the case. I used self-tapping screws to secure the port into the plastic facing – I now have a USBC port on the front of my quite old case and it’s sturdy.
